Dr. Gary Hartstein is an anesthesiologist and emergency physician. After graduating summa cum laude from the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Liège (Belgium), he completed a residency in Anesthesiology, a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, and certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He then pursued further specialization in Emergency Medicine, rising to the position of Clinical Professor of Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine on the Faculty of the University. He was in charge of the University’s pre-hospital medical activity, and medical director of the Province de Liège’s Ambulance School during a crucial phase of curriculum and standards development. He is also specialized in Disaster Medicine and participated actively in the Province’s mass casualty director on-call rota. Dr. Hartstein was also the medical delegate for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, where he edited a manual of Motorsport Medicine and organized the medical response teams for new Grand Prix for F1.
